Who knew that the Wednesday after Derby at Churchill Downs could be a big event?
It's not always a big event, of course--only when a 50-to-1 horse wins the Kentucky Derby and scatters losing pick six and super high five tickets to the ground quicker than you can say Anbesol.
Luckily, there's a Visine for that in the form of massive six-figure carryovers into each of those pools on Wednesday's card. Neither sequence (six races in a row or five finishers in a row in the last race) is particularly daunting, but nor is it a gimme either--especially with rain washing racing off the turf and sloppifying the main track.
I'll probably take a crack at one of the pools, if not both, though the weather is making me a little gun shy. Still, with that kind of money already in the pot, any winning ticket is pretty much guaranteed to payoff at overlaid odds.
